Does this refrigerator look empty?

A few weeks ago it looked empty to me.
It had been a busy week and on Friday I worked later than I expected. My fridge was empty and I needed to go to the store, but I was tired and didn't want to go out. I wasn't going to have time the next day, so I assessed what was in my fridge. As I looked through everything I realized there was enough to probably get me through three meals and a snack. I decided to forgo the store and "get by" the next day. Worst case scenario, I might have to eat the same thing twice the next day.
It gave me a new perspective on how much I truly have and made me realize how often I waste good, fresh food and take it for granted.
It also opened my eyes to the children and families we serve. While my "empty" fridge was due to convenience it still made me uncomfortable.
That Saturday, as I ate and saw the food supply grow smaller, I thought about how often families are faced with a refrigerator like this; knowing there's only enough food for a day or two but without funds or access to replenish.
It breaks my heart to think about that uncertainty. The despair of feeling hungry without enough food to fill a growling stomach. Or not to be able to feed your kids when they're hungry. God has opened our eyes to the need and I pray - and know - He'll shows us the door to help.
And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.” Luke 3:11
