

Shining Lights 5K
In May, we held our first fundraiser, the Shining Lights 5K and 1 mile Fun Run. Three sponsors came forward, an in-kind donation and 47 runners and walkers participated. We’d had a month of uncharacteristically beautiful weather, but the day before the event it poured all day. PIC was approved!
In November we started the process to become a Partner Agency with the Food Bank. After attending several trainings, submitting the application and having a site visit, in February PIC was officially approved to be a Partner Agency. This means PIC is able to: Purchase additional Mobile Food Pantries containing pallets of food that will provide approximately 20 pounds of fresh fruit, vegetables and meat for 100 families. School Awareness Signs
In the fall we were asked to give a presentation on Sex Trafficking to approx.. 200 junior high and high school student council members from South Central Texas. We shared stories and provided information they could take back to their schools in order to raise awareness and protect others. Led by the Holy Spirit to follow God’s word to be bold and courageous, towards the end we showed the music video Virtue Makes You Beautiful. I love the message it gives teens and was overjo


Christmas 2018 Food Distribution
In the Fall we held our annual Food Drive at the Junior high and high school campuses. Teachers and faculty at both campuses helped promote the project and encouraged students to bring in non-perishables. Several of the teachers at the junior high really embraced the project. Every can donated was a vote to throw a PIE in that teacher’s face. One teacher posted signs saying “Vote for me”. Another added an incentive; telling his classes for each class that brought in over 100
